Tuesday, September 17, 2024 (Norfolk, NE) Midwest Bank was recently recognized as a recipient of the Governor’s Wellness Award program and the Sower Award, which recognizes workplaces that have established quality wellness programs. This recognition highlights Midwest Bank’s unwavering commitment to fostering a health and supportive work environment for its employees.
Governor Jim Pillen and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services announced this year’s recipients of the Governor’s Wellness Award. Twenty-three Nebraska organizations are being honored for offering evidence-based worksite wellness programs.
“These businesses have all worked to incorporate a culture of health and wellness into their workplaces,” said Gov. Pillen. “The people are an organization’s most significant asset. Encouraging good nutrition, healthy habits, and physical and mental wellness through programs and initiatives pays off in dividends. I applaud this year’s winners for making that investment.”

Midwest Bank has implemented a range of initiatives aimed at promoting employee wellness. Midwest Bank offers employees the opportunity to exercise during work hours whether that’s walking outside, strength training, yoga, or meditation. Midwest Bank has also provided exercise programming, nutrition coaches, resources, and videos as well as information and presentations on eating healthy and getting proper sleep. The bank offers fitness membership reimbursements as well. In the past, the bank has held walking, water intake, and daily step challenges. Employees also get a free blood screening each year and Midwest Bank offers an Employee Assistance Program for employees and family members needing counseling and guidance services.
