Meet Kelsey at Midwest Bank. Kelsey has been with Midwest Bank for over seven years and currently works in the Human Resources department in the main headquarters located in Norfolk. Kelsey grew up in Atkinson, Nebraska, and attended Wayne State College after high school graduation.
Kelsey started her career with Midwest Bank as a part-time Customer Service Representative (CSR) at our Pierce branch and she worked her way up through the organization. She became a full-time CSR, learned how to open new accounts, became the Head CSR for three Norfolk locations, and then grew into her current position in Human Resources.
Kelsey is married to her husband, Trevor, and they have two little girls and a dog, Archer. In her spare time, Kelsey loves playing with her kiddos, reading, working out, and skiing. Her dream vacation would be to travel the world, see the Seven Wonders, and explore different cultures and cities. She loves visiting Colorado and being in the mountains. And when it comes time to retire, she wants to explore and travel with her husband!
When asked about the best thing about working at Midwest Bank, Kelsey replied, “The people. I love coming to work knowing everyone gets along and you are working with people who feel like family. I also love learning something new EVERY DAY!”. And if she had to describe Midwest Bank in three words, she said “Giving. Loyal. Consistent.”
“The people. I love coming to work knowing everyone gets along and you are working with people who feel like family. I also love learning something new EVERY DAY!”.
Kelsey explains why banking with a community bank is important. “Community banks are special because we are personal, we can make local decisions, we give back to the community in various ways, and we genuinely care about the profitability of the entire community and its people.” So, if you’re thinking about switching banks, you should choose Midwest Bank. As Kelsey says “We care about YOU. We care about more than just your banking need, we want to get to know you and help you solve to be successful in your life.” It’s true, at Midwest Bank, the relationships we build with our customers are our most important priority.
Kelsey also shared with us her favorite memory of working at Midwest Bank. “Honestly, anything to do with my co-workers or customers. I love how customers make you feel after you help them with something, but I also love talking with the employees here and the fun things we do together. Big things like Nerf gun wars or bridal and baby showers to just the small talk conversations we have every day about our lives outside the bank.” We love all of that too, Kelsey!
