Meet Steve at Midwest Bank. Steve is an Executive Vice President at our Creighton branch and has been with Midwest Bank for 34 years. Steve grew up in Ralston, Nebraska but also spent a lot of time on his father’s farm in Neligh, Nebraska. He graduated from Neligh High School and played football at the University of Nebraska from 1978-1979. He then transferred to Wayne State College and graduated with a Business degree with an emphasis in Economics and Finance and minors in Real Estate and Insurance.
Steve enjoys getting to do a little of everything in his role at Midwest Bank. When asked to describe what he does every day, he says “Everything from being the janitor to being a loan officer.” And he really enjoys the people he gets to work with each and every day. He says “The best thing about working here, are my coworkers.” And isn’t that what we all want when we go to work? To enjoy being around the people we work with. At Midwest Bank, that’s the norm, not the exception.
We just want what is best for our clients. We want what is best for our communities. And that’s always our goal. So, when you come into Midwest Bank, you know you’re getting a personal experience just for you.
And being at Midwest Bank for 34 years, Steve has seen a lot. He’s got so many great memories; he can’t pick just one favorite. He says, “Weddings, births, retirements, I’m grateful to have been a part of so many people’s lives and their big moments.” Midwest Bank truly feels like a family, supporting each other and celebrating those special milestone moments.
When Steve isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 42 years, Tammy. Together, they have three grown sons that are all married to “fantastic women” as Steve says, and he’s the proud grandpa to four grandchildren, two boys and two girls. Steve also enjoys cheering on the Cornhuskers as well as the Sixers, Dolphins, Royals, and Rangers – that’s a heck of a combination of teams! His other hobbies include golf, pinocle, his grandkids, and horse races. And the most surprising thing about Steve? He loves musicals – Music Man, Oklahoma, and Paint Your Wagon are a few of his favorites!
We also asked Steve why a community bank, like Midwest Bank, is the best choice for a great banking experience. Steve explains, “We just want what is best for our clients. We want what is best for our communities. And that’s always our goal. So when you come into Midwest Bank, you know you’re getting a personal experience just for you.” And, finally, we asked Steve to describe Midwest Bank in just three words. He replied,
“True Relationship Banking”.
And that pretty much sums it up best.
