Meet Lane at Midwest Bank. Lane has worked for Midwest Bank for four years and currently serves as an Assistant Vice President in Lending Services at our main Norfolk branch. Lane grew up in Benedict, Nebraska near York, NE. Lane attended Wayne State College and right out of college, he started the Management Trainee program with Midwest Bank.
Since starting the management trainee program, Lane has transitioned into different roles at Midwest Bank. After completing the trainee program, Lane served as a credit analyst for about 18 months before shifting his focus and moving into consumer and commercial lending. When asked about his experience at Midwest Bank, Lane replied “Each step in my journey has helped shape me for my current position. I know that banking is the career field for me, and I wouldn’t want to be doing it anywhere but at Midwest Bank”.
Lane enjoys his role in lending because he gets to assist clients and businesses with personal loans, small business loans, commercial real estate, acquisitions, and equipment financing. When asked what the best thing is about his job at Midwest Bank, Lane shared “Every day I get to work with a group of individuals who share a common goal in providing a service to our clients that is second to none. I genuinely feel that all my fellow employees make it their aim to assist our clients with any of their financial needs, and every time it is all hands on deck to get things done.”

When Lane isn’t working, he enjoys spending his spare time with his wife Kelsey, and their baby daughter, Amelia. They also have a German Shepard, Beznick that keeps them busy too. Lane also enjoys cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers, biking, running, and anything that involved woodworking. Lane’s dream vacation would be visiting the Highlands of Scotland and his favorite destination that he visited was Ireland on his honeymoon.
