Meet Heather at Midwest Bank. Heather has worked for Midwest Bank for 17 years and currently is a Personal Banker at our Pilger branch. Heather grew up in Hartington, Nebraska, and attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa. She played volleyball in college and really enjoyed her time there and has many fond memories.
As a Personal Banker, Heather provides banking services by helping customers open new accounts, manage their current accounts, as well as help with their finances. When asked what the best thing about working at Midwest Bank is, Heather said “Our customers! It just brightens my day when you get to greet our customers with a smile and help them in any way possible.”
Heather loves small-town living. She loves their acreage and all that comes with living in Nebraska. She wouldn’t choose to live anywhere else.
Heather describes why a community bank is the best bank for customers. “We honestly care for our customers and want to help them with all their financial needs. In a big bank, you wouldn’t have each of us that knows your name and it wouldn’t be as personal of an experience as it is here at Midwest Bank.” We truly believe it’s our people that make the biggest difference for our customers.
And if you’re thinking about switching banks, Heather explains how easy they make it. “At Midwest Bank, you aren’t just a number, you’re a valued customer. One-on-one with our customers goes a long way! We are there to make their switch easy. We can make the phone calls for automatic payments, or we have our Switch Kit that makes is easier too!” It’s that personal touch that means so much.
We honestly care for our customers and want to help them with all their financial needs. In a big bank, you wouldn’t have each of us that knows your name and it wouldn’t be as personal of an experience as it is here at Midwest Bank.
Heather is married to her husband; Sid and they’ve been married for 23 years. They have three children. Their son Dylan is a junior at Wayne State College and on the track team. Their daughter, Lindsey is a freshman at Wayne State College and on the track team. And their youngest daughter, Haley, is a sophomore at Wisner-Pilger High School. They also have two dogs, Buddy and Sophie.
Heather’s favorite hobby was scrapbooking before having kids, she hopes to get back into it later on in life. Her favorite sports team is “the Huskers, of course!” She also loves Mexican and Chinese food, she’s a self-proclaimed romantic at heart and her favorite movie is The Notebook. She also loves to sing, her favorite concert was U2, and her dream vacation is somewhere tropical, like the Bahamas.
When asked about where she’d love to retire, Heather said “At our lake house. We are hoping to redo it and just enjoy the lake life at some point. Soaking in the sun, the sand, with a drink in hand.”
When asked to describe Midwest Bank in three words, Heather said “Friendly. Proactive. Knowledgeable.” And as for what’s her favorite memory working at Midwest Bank, she proudly stated “Our Grand Opening of the bank here in Pilger after the tornadoes. Seeing the town and surrounding communities come together to show us their support was amazing”.
And that’s what community is all about.
