Meet Anne at Midwest Bank. Anne has worked for Midwest Bank for the past five years. Currently, she’s a Mortgage Loan Processor at our Creighton branch. Anne is originally from Creighton and graduated from Creighton High School and attended Spencer School of Business majoring in Accounting and Finance. She lived in Lincoln for 10 years before returning to Creighton to join her husband’s family farm operation.
Anne worked for Midwest Bank for four years early in her career before staying at home with her kids for 17 years. When she first worked at Midwest, she helped start the mortgage department. She also worked in mortgage lending during her time in Lincoln before moving back to Creighton. And now she continues working with mortgages in her current role at Midwest Bank. She primarily processes and closes secondary market real estate loans and enjoys getting to work closely with clients.
When asked what the best thing was about working at Midwest Bank, Anne easily replied, “The work-life balance that we’re all able to have.” And when we asked her to describe Midwest Bank in just three words, she said “Family-oriented company”. It’s truly important to Midwest Bank that our employees know that we believe that their families come first, and family is a core value for everyone that works here.
We know all of our customers and we truly have their best interests at heart.
Anne’s favorite memory of working at Midwest Bank is a past Christmas Party. Back in 2000, Don and Ginny Johnson joined in the fun and Anne remembers a lot of laughing. She also recalls taking home a white elephant gift featuring Steve Schindler’s senior picture, back when he had hair, she jokes.
When Anne isn’t working, she loves spending time with her husband of 32 years, Dave, and their three grown boys, along with their two dogs, Cooper and Bella. Anne loves going boating with her family and cheering on the Husker football and volleyball teams, and her guilty pleasure is sleeping in any chance she gets! And we asked her about her favorite food, and she said, “Grandma’s pan-fried chicken” and now we all want to try her Grandma’s chicken!
Anne’s dream vacation is to go to Italy and take cooking classes. Her favorite place to visit is Estes Park, Colorado. And if she could live anywhere in the world, she’d pick either Colorado or St. John Virgin Island. And when it comes to retirement, she would like to retire at their river cabin near Niobrara State Park. Little known fact, Anne designed the family cabin from the drawing board working with the contractor, through construction, and finally decorating it.
We asked Anne what makes banking at a community bank so special. She explains, “We know all of our customers and we truly have their best interests at heart.” No matter which branches you visit, Midwest Bank employees all have the same beliefs, it’s our clients and the relationships we have with them that matter most.
